Man discussing gun safety accidentally discharges firearm, kills woman, Fort Worth police say

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a woman at a north Fort Worth home.

At around 7:30am Sunday morning, Fort Worth police officers were dispatched to an unconscious person at a home in the 3700 block of Neches Street. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased female with an apparent gunshot wound to her upper body.

Officers detained four individuals at the home for questioning. During their investigation, detectives learned a man and a woman were discussing gun safety when the man accidentally discharged the firearm, striking the woman. The 25-year-old female was pronounced deceased at the scene by MedStar paramedics.

Fort Worth PD has not released any charges in this case.

The investigation is ongoing.
