[UPDATED] Suicidal woman who displayed gun at Arlington Memorial Hospital killed by police near Denton

The Arlington Police Department responded to an armed person this morning at the Arlington Memorial Hospital Emergency Room lobby.

At 8:55am, staff at AMH called Arlington police and informed them a woman had walked into the ER waiting room with a handgun and made suicidal comments. A security employee at the hospital confronted her and advised she leave the facility. The woman left hospital property before Arlington police arrived.

Detectives identified the woman and thoroughly searched the area, but did not locate her. A bulletin was sent to other police departments in North Texas to be on the lookout for her.

This afternoon, the Denton County Sheriff’s Office found the woman alive in their jurisdiction; however, Arlington police say she is now deceased. The details surrounding her death are under investigation.
