Student injured by vehicle at Chisholm Trail High School

On Monday, March 27, 2023, at about 5:51pm, Fort Worth PD units were dispatched to the 4400 block of Education Drive, Chisholm Trail High School, in reference to a major accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Fort Worth Fire Department and MedStar personnel also responded.   

Upon arrival, officers observed that a passenger vehicle had been parked in a parking spot in the parking lot of the high school.  The victim, a juvenile female, had approached the vehicle with her friend, the daughter of the driver, to retrieve an item.  The friend handed the victim the item and seated herself in the passenger seat as the driver began to move from the parking spot. 

Unbeknownst to the driver, the victim had dropped the item and it landed underneath the vehicle and, as the victim reached for the item, she was struck on arm the by the passenger vehicle’s tire and briefly pinned to the pavement.  The driver of the vehicle moved the vehicle to free the victim’s arm and called for medical assistance.  The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with investigating officers.

The victim was transported to Cook Children’s Medical Center in good condition for medical treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
