Toddler killed in accidental shooting at Arlington home
At around 12:30am this morning, Arlington officers responded to a home in the 5300 block of Pocassett Drive to investigate a report of shots fired.
When they arrived on scene, they found a woman holding her 3-year-old son who had an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where sadly, he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.
Investigators believe the child found a gun in a teenage sibling’s room and accidentally fired it, striking himself.
At this time, no criminal charges have been filed. The investigation is ongoing.
