Search will not resume for two men believed to be dead in Trinity River, Dallas officials say

The search for two men missing on the Trinity River will not resume, Dallas Fire Rescue says.

Dallas Fire Rescue and Police responded to reports of two men missing in the area of 1600 California Crossing. The pair went under the water and did not resurface.

Rescue crews searched for the two for hours, but did not locate them.

There will be no proactive search and rescue efforts by DFR, officials confirm. “The men are believed to be dead, and the most likely case is that the bodies will resurface on their own, at which point we will be asked to help get them from the water.”

The incident remains under investigation.
