Woman killed in Lake Worth crash was driving wrong way, police say
At around 10:00am this morning, Lake Worth FD and PD along with MedStar EMS responded to a major accident in the northbound lanes of Jim Wright Freeway service road near Azle Avenue.
Police say a 71-year-old woman pulled out of the QuikTrip on Marine Creek Parkway and headed southbound in the northbound lanes of the service road. A short time later, she collided head-on with another vehicle.
The woman was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, but later pronounced deceased from her injuries.
The other driver was not seriously hurt.
Lake Worth PD is handling the accident investigation.
