Driver killed in fiery crash at Fort Worth gas station

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight at the SW Loop 820 and McCart Avenue intersection.

At 2:31am, Fort Worth FD and PD along with MedStar EMS were dispatched to a vehicle that crashed into a gas station parking lot in the 2500 block of SW Loop 820 and McCart Avenue.

Police say the driver was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed at the time of the collision. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle, and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

Two drivers killed in wrong-way collision on the Dallas North Tollway

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred early Saturday morning on the Dallas North Tollway just north of downtown Dallas.

At 4:35am, DPS Troopers and Dallas Fire Rescue responded to a two-vehicle accident on southbound Dallas North Tollway near Wycliff Avenue.

Officials say a 27-year-old Richardson man was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of the tollway when he hit a pickup truck head-on. The driver of the pickup truck, a 55-year-old Houston man, was pronounced deceased at the scene along with the wrong-way driver.

Southbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway were closed for most of the morning while DPS investigated the scene. All lanes have since been reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.

Shots fired call leads to discovery of two dead inside home near DeSoto

At 6:22am this morning, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shots fired called in the 10000 block of Beckley View Avenue in Dallas County.

When deputies arrived, they discovered a man and a woman shot dead inside a residence.

Authorities believe there is no immediate threat to the neighborhood as this appears to be an isolated incident.

The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE: Motorcyclist killed in Rendon crash

On Friday, August 25th, at approximately 4:55pm, Rendon Fire Department and Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a crash at Rendon Bloodworth Road (FM 1187) and Exchange Drive.

Upon arrival, deputies found that a truck pulling a trailer and a motorcycle had collided with each other. Life-saving measures were attempted at the scene and during transport to a Mansfield hospital, but the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased.

The Medical Examiner has identified the motorcyclist as a 32-year-old man from Mansfield.

Rendon Bloodworth Road was closed for several hours while TCSO investigators worked the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

Man dies in Wise County crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Thursday afternoon along Highway 287 in Alvord.

At 4:51pm, Alvord FD, Wise County EMS, Wise County Sheriff’s Office and DPS Troopers responded to the scene on northbound 287 near County Road 2798.

Investigators say the driver of a pickup truck drove off the road and struck a tree. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Authorities have identified the driver as a 56-year-old man from Bowie.

The crash remains under investigation.

16-year-old injured in road rage shooting, North Richland Hills police say

North Richland Hills Police are investigating a road rage incident that led to a 16-year-old boy being shot.

The shooting happened last Saturday, August 19, on Loop 820 near Iron Horse Blvd around 10:45 a.m.

Reports indicate that the altercation began further west of the location and appears to be related to road rage. The juvenile driving a purple car may have cut someone off driving a dark-colored SUV. The driver of the dark-colored SUV began tailgating the victim and fired off several rounds into the victim’s car.

The boy was struck once but is expected to be okay. He has been treated and released from the hospital.

Man dies in Arlington house fire

On August 24, 2023, at around 3:00am, the Arlington Fire Department responded to the report of a kitchen fire with a trapped adult and dog at a house on White Oak Lane.

Truck 1, Engine 1, and Engine 4 arrived to find a one-story residential home with smoke emitting from the front door. The first arriving unit received confirmation from the parents that their son was still inside the home. The fire response was upgraded to a second alarm because of this report.

One adult male victim was located inside a bedroom and rescued by Truck 1 and Engine 1 crews operating inside the structure. Emergency medical care was initiated at the scene and continued during transport to a local medical facility. Unfortunately he was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

As a precaution, the mother and father of the victim also received transport to a local medical facility.

Crews extinguished the fire and located a dog that was deceased at the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

One person killed in severe crash along I20 in Arlington

On Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at approximately 5:30 a.m., officers responded to the 2100 block of W I-20 Freeway regarding a two-vehicle accident.

When officers arrived on scene, there was an SUV wrapped around a light pole with an individual trapped inside of the vehicle.

Preliminary investigation suggests the SUV was traveling in the eastbound lanes of I-20 when the driver attempted to pass a second vehicle. While doing so, the driver of the SUV clipped the second vehicle, lost control, hit a guardrail and came to rest against a light pole. The driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel.

Investigators believe the SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed which may have caused the accident.

Young woman standing outside wrecked vehicle killed in Lewisville crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred early Saturday morning along Sam Rayburn Tollway near Denton Tap Road in Lewisville.

At 12:25am, Lewisville Fire/EMS and DPS Troopers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash involving two pedestrians.

Investigators say a passenger vehicle had become disabled after hitting the center barrier. The vehicle was stopped partially in the inside lane with both occupants outside of the vehicle. It was at this time that a pickup truck struck the disabled vehicle, which then struck the driver and passenger standing outside of the disabled vehicle.

The driver of the disabled vehicle, a 21-year-old woman, was fatally injured at the scene. The second occupant, an 18-year-old woman was transported to a Dallas hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital with non-serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Second suspect arrested in Lewisville double murder

Lewisville Police Department has arrested a second man in connection with the double murder that occurred at a house in the 800 block of Ramblewood Drive.

The suspect, who was arrested today in Houston, is 51-year-old Jawara Oji Black. He is charged with two counts of Capital Murder. No bond has been set as he is waiting to be arraigned.

The victims have been identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner as a 66-year-old woman and her 43-year-old son. Their bodies were found on Monday, Aug. 14, inside the house in the 800 block of Ramblewood Drive, by a relative doing a welfare check after not being able to contact them for several days. Both victims had been shot.

One suspect, 37-year-old Samuel Atinafu Melkamu was arrested last week. He is charged with two counts of Capital Murder and is being held in the Denton County Jail on $500,000 bond.

Detectives continue to investigate the incident.
