8-year-old dies in shooting at home near Granbury
On Monday, September 25, at about 4:53 PM, Hood County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2900 block of Inwood Trail, located in the Oak Trail Shores Subdivision, regarding a shooting of a juvenile.
Upon arriving on scene, deputies were informed the 8-year-old female victim had been shot by another juvenile, while in the residence.
The victim was later flown by air medical to Cook’s Children Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, where she was later pronounced deceased.
A firearm was recovered at the scene and the family is cooperating with the investigation.
The circumstances to how the juveniles came to be in possession of the firearm and further details of the incident are still under investigation by the Hood County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Rangers and Hood County District Attorney Investigators.
