Arlington woman struck, killed by vehicle in Kroger parking lot
The Arlington Police Department is investigating the death of a 62-year-old woman who was involved in an auto-pedestrian collision on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:42 p.m. in the parking lot of Kroger, 2300 block of SE Green Oaks Boulevard.
Investigators believe the driver of a pickup truck was traveling south in the parking lot towards the front entrance of the store, came to a stop near the end of the row, and then turned to go eastbound. As he was turning, he struck the woman who had just exited the store and was walking in the parking lot.
The driver of the pickup immediately stopped and began rendering aid. He is not facing any criminal charges in connection to this incident.
The woman was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
Investigators do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
