Teen struck, killed by vehicle along 175 in southeast Dallas
On April 22, 2024, at 7:35 pm, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Deputies and Dallas Fire Rescue responded to a major accident on westbound Highway 175 (CF Hawn Freeway) service road at Beltline Road.
When deputies arrived, they learned that a pedestrian had been hit while he was walking on the shoulder of the roadway.
Deputies determined that an SUV was traveling westbound on 175 CF Hawn Freeway service road approaching stopped traffic, when the driver took evasive action and veered onto the shoulder, hitting the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was a 16-year-old male who was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The investigation is ongoing.
