Two people shot, one fatally, in south Fort Worth
On Saturday, October 12, 2024, at approximately 2:14 a.m., Fort Worth PD officers responded to a shooting call in the 4200 block of the South Freeway service road.
Upon arrival, officers located three victims. All were transported to area hospitals for medical treatment. One victim did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Another victim is expected to survive, while the third individual is believed to have been struck by flying debris and is not thought to have been shot.
During the investigation, detectives learned that a physical altercation took place at the scene prior to the shooting between the suspect and another individual. Immediately following the altercation, the suspect fired multiple rounds toward the individual involved in the fight, hitting the victims. The suspect fled the scene in a dark-colored pickup truck.
This incident is under investigation by the Fort Worth Police Homicide Unit. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will determine the official manner and cause of death.
