Intoxicated driver causes fatal collision in Grand Prairie
The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal accident that occurred early this morning.
At approximately 1:40 a.m., a passenger car was traveling north in the 4500 block of S. Highway 360 at Green Oaks Blvd with hazard lights on and at a slower speed when a SUV struck the car from behind.
The driver of the passenger car was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the SUV, identified as Hector Garcia, 20 years of age, was believed to be intoxicated and subsequently arrested for intoxication manslaughter. Garcia is currently being held at the Grand Prairie Detention Center with a bond set at $200,000.00.
The crash remains under investigation.
