Update: One killed, two seriously hurt in 6-vehicle crash, Fort Worth police say
At around 5:44am this morning, Fort Worth Police and Fire along with MedStar EMS responded to a major accident in the southbound lanes of Interstate 35W near Sycamore School Road.
Upon arrival, emergency responders located a chain reaction crash involving a total of six vehicles: five passenger cars and one commercial vehicle.
Two occupants of the first vehicle were transported to a local trauma center with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries. A third passenger in the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene.
There was a separate accident involving an 18-wheeler that crashed off a bridge on the northbound side of Interstate 35W; however, it is not clear if onlooker slow downs played a role in this particular accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
