Driver killed in Grand Prairie crash may have been intoxicated, police say

The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal accident that occurred early this morning.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., witnesses called 911 reporting a possible intoxicated driver traveling west on Interstate 30 near Belt Line Road in a passenger car.

As officers were responding, witnesses stated the vehicle collided with an SUV. The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased by medical staff.

The driver of the SUV was not injured.

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office once the next of kin has been notified.

The collision remains under investigation.
