Man fatally shot by Denton County deputies after pointing gun during arrest attempt
On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at approximately 2:45 pm, Denton County Sheriff’s Office deputies were serving an arrest warrant in the 10000 block of Field Lark Lane in unincorporated Denton County.
As the deputies contacted the 58-year-old individual, he failed to comply with verbal commands and pointed a handgun at the deputies. Denton County Sheriff deputies then shot him.
Deputies took life-saving measures until EMS arrived. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene and no deputies were injured.
This case is under investigation by the Texas Rangers.
