17-year-old partygoer shot near Arlington event venue

At around 11:00pm Saturday, Arlington police officers responded to an event venue in the 2800 block of Galleria Drive after receiving reports of loud music and possible underage drinking.

As officers arrived on scene, they could hear gunshots coming from a parking lot west of the location.

When they got to the parking lot, they found a 17-year-old male on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.

Police believe the victim was at the party that was going on at the event venue prior to the shooting.

Detectives are conducting follow up investigation to try to determine what led to the shooting.
