Shooting suspect killed by Dallas police in Mesquite
On Saturday, December 20, 2025, at about 10:15 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 9000 block of Markville Drive. The preliminary investigation determined that a female victim was shot, and the suspect fled the scene. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital where she later died.
At about 11:45 a.m., Dallas PD officers conducting surveillance located the suspect in a vehicle near the 18500 block of LBJ Freeway in Mesquite at which time officers conducted a felony traffic stop. The suspect exited the vehicle and shots were fired. The suspect died on scene and no officers were injured.
The Mesquite Police Department is investigating the officer-involved shooting that occurred in Mesquite.
The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office responded to the scene and will conduct their own investigation.
