Man arrested for Capital Murder after wife, mother-in-law found dead at Azle house

Azle, TX – On Thursday, July 16, 2026, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Azle Police and Fire units were dispatched to a suspicious situation in the 200 block of Stewart Bend Court in Azle, Texas.

Due to the circumstances, officers made entry into the residence to check the welfare of the occupants.

Inside the home, officers located two adult females, a mother and daughter, deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

Azle Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division worked closely with the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers during the investigation. With the assistance of FLOCK cameras and evidence collected at the scene, investigators identified Joseph Gordon, of Fort Worth, as the suspect responsible for the murder of his wife and mother-in-law.

The Texas Rangers took Gordon into custody, and he is currently being processed at the Parker County Jail on two counts of Capital Murder.
