Mother and her two kids killed in crash near Terrell
On July 26, 2026, at approximately 11:35 p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) Highway Patrol (HP) Troopers responded to a 2-vehicle crash on US-80, East of Windmill Farms Blvd.
A preliminary investigation indicates a passenger car was disabled in the right lane (eastbound) of US-80. An 18-wheeler was traveling east on US-80 approaching the passenger car. The driver of the 18-wheeler was unable to avoid the collision and struck the rear end of the passenger car, causing it to go over the concrete railing of the bridge.
The driver of the car, a 38 y/o female, and two passengers, a 14-year-old child and a 9-year-old child, were pronounced deceased on the scene.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
