Three people injured, one fatally, in south Dallas shooting

On Sunday, August 9, 2026, at approximately 4:31 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 2700 block of Exline Street near Malcolm X Blvd.

The preliminary investigation determined that three people were shot at the location and transported to the hospital by private vehicle. One person later died at the hospital.

No arrest has been made in the shooting incident.

At the crime scene, a 37-year-old male disregarded the crime scene tape and officers’ directions to avoid the area. He was arrested and charged with Interference with Public Duties, a Class B misdemeanor.

The shooting remains under investigation.
