Man expected to survive being hit by train in Fort Worth

Just before 11:30am Saturday morning, Fort Worth Fire and Police were dispatched to the area of W. Bonds Ranch Road between Fossil Springs Drive and Highway 287 for a person struck by a train.

Emergency responders arrived to find a 20-year-old man with serious injuries after being struck by a train. Supervisors with FWFD, who carry blood to assist with major trauma calls, were dispatched to the scene for patient care assistance.

CareFlite helicopter was placed on standby, but FWFD paramedics transported the victim to a local trauma center with serious injuries.

FWPD say the man is expected to survive the incident.

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the situation.
