Two shot, one fatally, at Allen Starbucks
On September 18, 2026, at approximately 5:59 p.m., Allen Police officers responded to reports of a shooting at 969 State Highway 121 (Starbucks).
The preliminary investigation indicates that the incident occurred during a child custody exchange involving the
father of the children and the mother’s boyfriend. An altercation occurred between the two men, resulting in
both sustaining a gunshot wound.
Both individuals were transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. The victim, identified as the mother’s boyfriend, was later pronounced deceased. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The suspect, identified as the father of the children, was taken into custody without incident and remains hospitalized with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
The children who were present during the custody exchange were not physically injured.
