Driver of disabled vehicle struck, killed along I30 in Grand Prairie
The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian collision that occurred Wednesday evening, October 7th, on IH-30 near MacArthur Boulevard.
At approximately 7:50 p.m., the driver of an SUV struck a pedestrian on the entrance ramp to the TEXpress lanes of eastbound IH-30. Grand Prairie Fire Department medics responded to the scene and pronounced the pedestrian deceased.
Investigators determined the pedestrian had been traveling in a vehicle that became disabled. The pedestrian exited the vehicle and began walking along the entrance ramp when they were struck by the SUV.
The driver of the SUV was not injured and is cooperating with investigators.
The identity of the deceased will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office following notification of next of kin.
The collision remains under investigation.
