CareFlite launched to accident on Jacksboro Highway near Lake Worth

CareFlite has been called to the scene of a major accident, reportedly a vehicle vs pedestrian, near the 8300 block of Jacksboro Highway.

This will be north of Lake Worth near the community of Lakeside. Cross street of Rankin Road on Highway 199.

CareFlite has launched from Fort Worth. Avoid this area.

Update – CareFlite is airlifting the patient to JPS. Late 20’s male who was involved in a crash, got out of the vehicle, and was then struck by another car.

Flash Flood WATCH issued for North Texas until Thursday morning

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a Flash Flood WATCH for a large portion of north Texas, including the DFW Metroplex, until 7:00am Thursday morning.

Thunderstorms and heavy rain are likely across our area tomorrow between the hours of noon and midnight. Storms could be strong with all modes of severe weather possible. The immediate DFW Metroplex has an enhanced risk of severe weather, or a level 3 out of 5.

The heavy rain may cause problems for area lakes that are already pretty full from past weather events. Flooding has closed portions of area lakes. The Trinity River through Dallas County is currently under a Flood WARNING as latest readings indicate the river is over flood stage.

A Flash Flood WATCH means that conditions are favorable for heavy rain which may lead to flash flooding. You should monitor the latest forecasts from the NWS and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued for your area.

Multiple injuries, possible ejection reported in crash between Maypearl and Venus

Venus FD Rescue 72, Johnson County Engine 90, Squad 90, Maypearl FD, AMR, and multiple law enforcement are working a serious crash involving multiple people injured on FM 157 near Marion Road.

Venus FD reports four injured, one requiring air transport and three ground transport. The person to be flown from the crash was reportedly ejected from the vehicle.

The vehicle is off the roadway in a field with major damage.

Air Evac 74 has been launched to the scene.

It is best to avoid this area.

Police investigating homicide at east Arlington apartment complex

Just after 6:45am this morning, Arlington police were called to the scene of a welfare check at an apartment complex in the 2500 block of Park Village Drive.

A 9-1-1 caller reported that a man was possibly at the location and had assaulted a female at the residence. When officers arrived, they located an unconscious female in a bedroom.

The female was transported to a local hospital, but declared deceased.

Investigators believe a physical disturbance occurred between the two individuals and are still working to figure out exactly what happened.

A 36-year-old male was taken into custody at the scene and taken to the Arlington jail where he was charged with murder.

Air Evac helicopter called to trauma injury in Ellis County

Ellis County EMS have requested an air medical helicopter to airlift a patient from a reported trauma injury / amputation.

The scene is in the 500 block of Highway 34 in Italy. Air Evac 74 from Waxahachie has been launched to the scene and will be landing at the Italy Fire Station.

Update – Air Evac 74 has lifted from the scene headed to Baylor Dallas.

Avoid this area.

Young man found dead in parking lot of northeast Dallas apartment complex ruled homicide

The Dallas Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call for police at The Hive Apartments, 6003 Abrams Road, just before 3:00am this morning.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers located a young male in his 20s deceased in the parking lot. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased from homicidal violence.

The victim has not yet been identified.

Dallas Police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Grubbs at 214-671-3675.

UPDATE: Fire at old Dallas hotel renders the building a total loss

It was another very busy night for Dallas firefighters. Units arrived on scene around 1:30am and found heavy fire showing on the 3rd floor with heavy smoke showing throughout the multi-story structure, formerly the Ambassador Hotel.

A 2nd and 3rd alarms were quickly called to the scene, bringing in several more fire apparatus and dozens of firefighters.

Defensive operations were called early on, meaning the structure was too involved to fight fire from the interior of the building.

The fire escalated to 4 alarms. Luckily, Dallas Fire-Rescue reports there were no injuries.

Fire officials have deemed the building a total loss. Demolition will begin today.

33-year-old man drowns at Grapevine Lake over holiday weekend

On Sunday evening, rescue crews with the Grapevine Fire Department responded to reports of a drowning at the lake near Rockledge Park.

Upon arrival, emergency responders worked with witnesses to try and locate the male. After an hour of searching, the rescue operation became a recovery.

Additional units from Flower Mound FD and the Texas Game Warden assisted in the search and recovery.

According to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner, the victim has been identified as a 33-year-old. The time of death is listed at 7:48pm.

3 Alarm Fire (Dallas)

Multiple Dallas Fire-Rescue crews are on scene of a major fire at a large, multi-story building in the 1300 block of S Ervay Street. Heavy fire showing from a high rise building. Defensive fire operations at this time. Avoid this area.
