VIDEO: Fort Worth officer saves woman from jumping off bridge into Lake Worth
The Fort Worth Police Department responded to a suicidal person on the Northwest Loop 820 bridge over Lake Worth yesterday morning around 10:10AM.
The suicidal female’s brother called 9-1-1 indicating his sister was suicidal and that she was near the Lake Worth bridge.
Fort Worth officer Teresa Trevino responded immediately and came onto the scene in just the right time. As Officer Trevino pulled up, the woman exited her vehicle, walked over to the bridge, and attempted to jump over.
Officer Trevino grabbed her and pulled her from the ledge.
“Officer Trevino’s heroics serve as a reminder to everyone who may struggle with emotional distress. Suicide prevention is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, via the National Suicide Prevention Hotline 800-273-8255.”
