One person reportedly shot at Fort Worth Design District

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a shooting in the 1900 block of Golden Heights Road in far north Fort Worth.

Emergency responders were called to the scene just after 5:45PM this evening after there were reports of a shooting.

Police confirm one person has been shot. They did not release the condition of the victim, but unofficial reports indicate the victim has sustained major injuries.

The investigation is underway at the Fort Worth Design District.

Fort Worth PD says the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is taking over the investigation at this time.

UPDATE from Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office: “The 911 call came in around 17:50 this evening advising they heard a gun shot. TCSO units arrived on scene at 18:00 and found a single female victim with a gunshot wound. She was transported to JPS where she passed away in surgery. At this time we do not believe there is any danger to the community. We are actively working all angles of this investigation and are being assisted by several agencies.”

The victim has been identified as a 23-year-old female.
