Driver dies in rollover crash while attempting to flee from Dallas police

The Dallas Police Department responded to an active shooter in a vehicle this evening near Arcadia Park. One suspect was spotted firing a weapon from his vehicle.

Multiple police officers responded to the scene, located the presumed vehicle, and conducted a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, the suspect drove off, leading police on a short chase.

The suspect came to a second stop and officers again attempted to question the driver, but he took off again.

Dallas police requested the assistance of the department’s Air-1 helicopter and Dallas County Sheriffs deputies in apprehending the alleged armed suspect.

As police attempted to stop him a third time, the driver was involved in a rollover crash near the 1600 block of Duncanville Road.

Dallas Fire-Rescue were called to the scene. They transported the suspect from the wreck to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.

Law enforcement chases driver from Dallas to Fort Worth; one in custody

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle along westbound Interstate 30 near Cockrell Hill Road just before 8:00PM this evening, but the driver failed to stop and led police on a chase.

The pursuit traveled along Interstate 30 for around 20 minutes.

Officers successfully deployed a spike strip along the pursuit route, helping to bring the suspect vehicle to a stop along Interstate 30 near Bridge Street in east Fort Worth.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to a Dallas hospital for shortness of breath.

Reasons for the chase are unknown at this time.

Multiple people transported from ATV crash in Johnson County

Multiple people have been transported from an ATV rollover crash in Joshua.

Joshua FD, Keene FD, Cleburne FD, multiple Johnson County EMS (AMR) units and police all responded to the scene in the 1400 block of S. Highway 174.

Reports indicate an all terrain vehicle overturned and injured multiple people.

CareFlite air ambulance responded to the scene and has airlifted one patient to Cook Children’s hospital. Multiple ground ambulances have transported patients from the scene as well. Unofficial counts of five people injured.

One dead after crash involving bus, two semi trucks on I-35 in Hillsboro

The Hillsboro Police Department is investigating an early-morning crash on Interstate 35 that claimed the life of one driver.

Hillsboro firefighters and police along with CareFlite ground EMS, Abbot FD, Hill County sheriffs deputies, and DPS were called to the scene of a major crash involving one bus and two semi-trucks along northbound I35 near the south exit for Highway 81 south of Hillsboro.

Upon arrival, police located one person deceased. He was the driver of the bus. One of the semi-truck drivers was also injured and transported by ambulance to a hospital in Waco.

The interstate was shut down while police and EMS evaluated the passengers on the bus.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.

One person killed in Denton shooting

The Denton Police Department responded to an unconscious person in the 200 block of S. Bonnie Brae Street just before 11PM Saturday evening.

Officers found one person with an apparent gunshot wound. Denton EMS transported him to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Police say the suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6′ tall, wearing a black hoodie and black or gray sweatpants.

Update – A suspect has been arrested in connection with this homicide.

Wanted suspect dead, officer injured in Oak Cliff shooting

The Dallas Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Saturday evening in the 2100 block of S. Westmoreland Road.

Police officers in the area observed a person wanted for multiple felonies. As officers approached the man, he fled in a pickup truck, driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Westmoreland Road.

A short time after, the suspect crashed into another vehicle. After the crash, the suspect exited the vehicle and exchanged gunfire with officers. One of the officers was shot in the hand.

The suspect fled from the scene on foot. Additional officers were called to the scene and eventually located him in a shed, suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital, but pronounced deceased.

The injured officer was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The incident remains under investigation.

Stormy night ahead for North Texas

A preliminary round of thunderstorms is currently sweeping across the DFW Metroplex from northeast to southwest. Severe weather is not expected with the first round.

A line of strong to severe thunderstorms is currently moving east and should impact our area between the hours of 11PM – 2AM. Severe weather is a possibility with this round, including large hail and damaging winds.

The line of storms out west is expected to gradually weaken and take a more southern turn, according to the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm WATCH has been issued for a large portion of North Texas, including the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex, until 4:00AM. Conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms.

Regardless, it will still be a loud and bumpy evening for us, whether the storms are significant or routine. Stay tuned to DFW Scanner for the latest information.

One person shot, killed in armed robbery at Fort Worth house

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred overnight in south Fort Worth.

Multiple police were called to a home in the 1000 block of Lomo Street just before 12:30AM in reference to a robbery.

Officers arrived to find one person deceased from at least one apparent gunshot wound.

Detectives say multiple suspects entered the residence with intent to rob the victim and two others inside the home. At some point during the robbery, the victim was shot.

The suspects fled the scene on foot and were not located.

The shooting victim has been identified as a 21-year-old man.

Police investigating body found in pond at McKinney hospital

The McKinney Police Department is investigating the discovery of a body in a pond outside of Baylor McKinney hospital.

Multiple emergency responders were called to the scene this morning for what appeared to be a body in the water. A dive team was called to retrieve the body.

Multiple people reported seeing police activity in the area yesterday, including K-9 officers who appeared to be on a search.

Police are currently investigating this as a possible suicide. They confirm the body is an adult male.

There has been no other information released at this time.

Two men shot, killed after altercation at Pleasant Grove gas station

Dallas Police Department is investigating the shooting deaths of two men that occurred around 6:30AM this morning at a gas station in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood of Southeast Dallas.

Officials say four people, two men and two women, were sitting inside a vehicle in the parking lot of a gas station in the 9100 block of Bruton Road. As the group sat in the vehicle, another vehicle suddenly pulled into the lot and parked in front of them.

Three armed suspects exited and approached the four individuals sitting in the car. An altercation ensued. The two men in the vehicle attempted to flee, but were both shot multiple times by the suspects.

After the shooting, all three suspects and the two women got into the suspect vehicle and fled the scene.

A short time later, police were notified that a vehicle marching the suspect’s description had crashed in the 8900 Shorelark Drive. Officers responded and apprehend all five individuals hiding in a shed.

The incident remains under investigation.
