Fort Worth police officer transported to hospital after crash along I-30

Fort Worth firefighters, police officers, and MedStar paramedics were called to the scene of a major accident involving a Fort Worth PD officer along eastbound Interstate 30 near Oakland Blvd.

Officials say a driver collided with the rear of a Fort Worth police car near the intersection of Holt Street and Brentwood Stair Road.

The driver who hit the officer attempted to flee from the scene, but was taken into custody by an off duty officer.

Both the suspect and the officer were transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons. It does not sound like their injuries are serious.

[UPDATED] US-75 completely closed in Plano due to serious crash; two dead

All northbound and southbound lanes of US-75 are closed near the President George Bush Turnpike in Plano due to a serious crash.

Officials say all northbound lanes are closed at the PGBT and all southbound lanes are closed at 15th Street.

Plano Fire-Rescue were dispatched to the scene around 4:15PM regarding a major accident. Truck 1, Engine 1, Medic 1, Battalion 1, and Squad 1 were all dispatched to the crash, which reportedly involved a vehicle rollover with entrapment. Rescue 4, Truck 4, and Engine 4 were added to assist with possible extrication.

A medical helicopter was placed on standby after 9-1-1 callers reported the driver was severely pinned in the dump truck.

Police confirm two people have died in the crash. According to scanner traffic, Plano Medic 1 also transported a patient to Medical City Plano, unknown condition.

All northbound and southbound lanes are expected to be closed for many hours and possible into the night.

Official release from Plano PD: Preliminary investigation indicates an SUV occupied two times was traveling W/B on the service road of 190 (behind Fry’s Electronics) at a high rate of speed. That vehicle failed to navigate the turn where the road ends at the service road of 75 and went into a small ditch, flew past N/B 75 and struck the driver side of a gravel hauler truck pulling a trailer. The driver of the gravel hauler is deceased along with a male occupant of the SUV. A female occupant of the SUV was ejected and transported to the hospital, unknown status on her. Unknown at this time which was the driver of the SUV.

Child struck, killed by vehicle in Arlington

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatality accident involving a child struck by a vehicle in southeast Arlington.

Around 8:30PM last night, Arlington FD, PD, and EMS responded to a child struck by a vehicle in the 800 block of Blue Sky Drive.

An 8-year-old female child attempted to cross the street when she was overrun by a passing vehicle. She was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased.

The driver stopped at the scene to render aid and is cooperating with investigators. He was released by investigators. No excessive speed or driver impairment was reported.

The accident remains under investigation.

Garland police searching for driver who struck, killed man in field

The Garland Police Department is looking for a driver who reportedly struck and killed a man overnight.

Around 7:00AM this morning, Garland police responded to reports of a deceased man in a field just off an alleyway in the 600 block of Stroud Lane.

An investigation reveals the man was in the field near the alleyway when a vehicle drove off into the grass and ran him over. The vehicle then fled from the scene and did not render aid.

The victim has been identified as a 31-year-old man. His death is being investigated as a murder.

Police would like any residents in the immediate area who have video surveillance cameras to review their tapes and see if there is anything that could help solve this crime.

Police say there may be damage to the front end of the truck and are urging anyone with information to contact their office: 972-485-4840.

Two airlifted from pedestrian crash in Glen Rose

Multiple law enforcement are currently investigating a serious crash involving two people struck by a vehicle on Highway 67 near Bo Gibbs Blvd.

Preliminary reports indicate the pair was crossing the street when they were struck by a vehicle.

Air Evac and CareFlite have both airlifted patients to Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth. Major injuries reported.

There are delays along westbound Highway 67 in the area while police investigate the scene.

No other details to provide at this time.

Woman kills child, herself during barricaded standoff with Dallas police

The Dallas Police Department responded to a domestic violence incident just after 12:30AM this morning at a house in the 500 block of Highcrest Drive.

When officers arrived, they spoke to a man who said he was involved in a verbal dispute with a 35-year-old woman (unknown relation). During the verbal dispute, the woman became upset and started shooting a gun at the man. He ran out of the house and called 9-1-1.

The woman barricaded herself and her two children inside the home. SWAT was notified and arrived at the scene just before 2:00AM.

SWAT attempted to negotiate a peaceful surrender. During the negotiations, one of the kids, a 12-year-old male, was able to run out of the house. An 8-year-old female child remained inside the house with the female suspect.

After several attempts to negotiate a peaceful surrender failed, SWAT made entry into the home just before 6:30AM. When they entered, the suspect fired shots at them, grazing one of the officers in the arm. Officers did not return fire, knowing there was a child inside the house.

Just after 9:00AM this morning, SWAT entered the home again and found the female suspect and the 8-year-old child both deceased from what appears to be a murder suicide.

This is an active investigation. Expect heavy police activity in the area.

Driver killed in rollover crash along Dallas North Tollway

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident involving a single vehicle that occurred Sunday evening.

At around 8:10PM, Dallas Fire-Rescue and DPS troopers were called to the scene of a crash on southbound Dallas North Tollway near IH-635.

A vehicle was traveling southbound when it impacted a lane barrier on the right side of the highway. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn multiple times, ejecting the driver.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

All southbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway were closed for an extended period of time last night due to this crash.

One person airlifted from boating incident at Bardwell Lake in Ellis County

Multiple emergency responders from several agencies are on scene of a boating accident / incident at Bardwell Lake.

According to the Ellis County Informer, firefighters from Bardwell FD and Ennis FD, paramedics from Ellis County EMS (AMR), and multiple police all responded to a boater in distress call at Bardwell Lake’s Love Park.

There were at least three people injured in some type of boating incident. One person required immediate medevac from the scene.

PHI Med 6 helicopter from Corsicana was called to the scene. The helicopter landed at Parkland Hospital with the patient just a few moments ago (10:51PM)

One person killed in crash along Highway 183 near DFW Airport

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident along eastbound Highway 183 just east of Highway 360 near the south end of DFW International Airport.

Emergency responders were called to the scene around 9:30PM this evening. Police confirm one person has been pronounced deceased on the scene.

The details surrounding the incident are still being investigated at this time.

We did receive an eyewitness report stating one vehicle was overturned with major damage.

Major delays in the area.

Update – The Tarrant County Medical Examiner confirms the deceased is a 61-year-old man.

Racing vehicle crashes in Fort Worth; one passenger killed

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident near the 700 block of N. University Drive near Shamrock Ave.

Preliminary information indicates two vehicles were racing at a high speed when one wrecked out. A passenger inside the vehicle was killed in the crash.

Police say both vehicles were traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash. Fort Worth firefighters and MedStar paramedics responded to the scene for extrication and EMS care.

The driver of the vehicle has been detained and transported to an area hospital as a precaution.

Lanes of N. University at the West Fork Trinity River are closed while police investigate the scene. It is best to avoid this area.
