Adult and child critically injured in north Fort Worth drowning

Multiple Fort Worth FD and MedStar units have been called to a drowning / near-drowning in north Fort Worth.

The incident occurred in the 4200 block of Starburst Drive near the intersection of N. Beach Street and Golden Triangle Blvd.

MedStar reported two patients, an adult and a child, with critical injuries. A CareFlite helicopter was called to the scene and landed nearby, but was later disregarded.

Both patients were transported by ground ambulances to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The incident is under investigation at this time.

Update – The adult victim died at a local hospital. He has been identified as a 62-year-old man from Fort Worth.

One motorcyclist killed, another seriously injured in Arlington crash

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatality accident involving a motorcycle and a vehicle that occurred late last night along Highway 360.

Multiple emergency responders were called to the scene along southbound SH-360 near Pioneer Parkway. Officials say a motorcycle occupied by two riders struck the back end of a truck as traffic was coming to a halt due to construction.

The operator of the motorcycle, identified as a 57-year-old man, was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced deceased after being transported from the scene. The second occupant, a female rider, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. She was also ejected.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the crash. There were no other injuries and no charges reported.

Woman drowns at Lake Viridian in Arlington

The Arlington Fire Department, Police Department, and EMS all responded to a drowning at Lake Viridian this afternoon.

Around 4:00PM, firefighters arrived to find a 38-year-old woman unconscious and not breathing. Emergency responders immediately began CPR. She had been pulled from the water.

Arlington EMS transported the woman to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Lake Viridian is located in far north Arlington at the Viridian neighborhood.

The incident is under investigation.

Update – The victim has been identified as a 40-year-old woman from Grand Prairie.

Father kills two teenage daughters, himself at home in Mesquite

The Mesquite Police Department responded to a shooting last night, Monday, in the 1300 block of Bradford Place.

When officers arrived on scene around 10:30PM, they located a 63-year-old man deceased inside the residence. He was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

As officers searched the residence, they located the bodies of a 16-year-old female and a 17-year-old female. Both were deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.

Detectives say the man was the father of the two females. Information indicates he shot and killed his daughters, and then turned the gun on himself.

The motive for the murder-suicide has not been released.

One high-school aged Teenager killed, another injured in Burleson crash

The Burleson Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred last night along NW John Jones Drive.

Multiple Burleson FD, PD, and MedStar EMS units were called to the scene around 9:15PM near the 700 block of NW John Jones Drive at Tarpon Street. Police say two high school aged teenagers were in a vehicle traveling southbound on John Jones when a northbound vehicle turning onto Tarpon Street clipped their vehicle.

The car occupied by the teenagers then veered off the roadway and struck a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to split in half.

The driver, whose age has not yet been released, was transported to a local hospital with injuries. His or her condition is unknown. The passenger, a 16-year-old male from Crowley, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Armed driver attempts to shoot Dallas police officer; officer returns fire, injuring the gunman

The Dallas Police Department is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred late last night at the Highway 175 and Bucker Blvd intersection.

According to Dallas PD, one of their officers was sitting in his patrol car at a red light when an a driver pulled up to the intersection, got out of the car brandishing a weapon, and shot in the direction of the officer.

The officer returned fire, striking the gunman twice. The officer was not injured.

The gunman was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Police were originally responding to a shots fired call in the general area, but it is too early to tell if the gunman was the same suspect.

The incident remains under investigation.

Intoxicated driver hits, kills pedestrian in Burleson

The Burleson Police Department is investigating a fatality accident involving a pedestrian that occurred overnight along I35W in Burleson.

Multiple emergency responders were called to the scene along northbound 3300 block of Interstate 35W.

According to police, a driver was traveling on the interstate when he struck and killed a pedestrian. Officers conducted a field sobriety tests and determined the driver was intoxicated. He was arrested and transported to the local jail.

The victim has been identified as a 66-year-old woman from Alvarado.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Teenager arrested for killing juvenile at Arlington apartment complex

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place on Wednesday of last week at an apartment complex in the 2500 block of Forest Point Drive.

When officers arrived, they located a 14-year-old female who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Paramedics transported her to a local hospital where she was later flown to another facility. Yesterday, a week after the shooting, she was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Arlington PD has arrested a 19-year-old male suspect who allegedly shot and killed the juvenile.

An arrest warrant for the man indicates he and the victim were involved in an argument when he pulled out a gun and shot the girl once in the head. He then fled from the scene, but has been arrested by detectives. He has been charged with one count of Murder.

The incident remains under investigation.

Six people arrested after peaceful demonstration turns violent in Arlington

The Arlington Police Department is investigating multiple incidents of burglary and criminal mischief that occurred yesterday evening and night across various portions of the city.

Officials say a peaceful demonstration began at the Center Street bridge over Interstate 20 yesterday afternoon around 4:00PM. Multiple officers shut down the area in an effort to give the protesters a safe demonstration location.

After the protest at Center Street ended, a second demonstration occurred at Arlington’s City Hall and Police Station, located at the intersection of Cooper Street and Division Street. A handful of agitators from the second demonstration burned flags in front of the police station, damaged windows outside the building, and defaced a star in front of the station.

The group of protesters and agitators, which included several dozen vehicles, continued towards AT&T Stadium. When the group arrived at the Walmart store located across from AT&T Stadium, several people began to break into the store, which had already closed for the night. APD was quick to respond and arrested four people for breaking into the building. Others ran away.

The Arlington Police Department Special Response Team established themselves in front of the Walmart store to protect the agitators from further looting the building.

After the break-in at the Walmart, a small group of agitators left and drove to the Arlington Parks Mall and Arlington Highlands. Officers were able to surge both locations and prevent further looting from these areas.

Over the course of the next hour, the group drove around erratically through several streets, damaging buildings and breaking windows. Several stores, including the Arlington Jewelry Exchange, Jared’s Jewelry, Walmart Supercenter (S. Cooper Street), Which Wich (Highlands), First Cash Pawn, suffered glass damaged or were burglarized by the group.

There were two additional arrests for the burglaries.

Detectives are also working to identify the numerous drivers who evaded police and drove recklessly throughout the city while these demonstrations took place.

Teenager killed in Crowley shooting; Police searching for suspect

The Crowley Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred last Friday, May 29th, just before midnight.

Police were called to the area of FM 1187 (Crowley Plover Road) and FM 731 (Crowley Road) after an altercation at a nearby business resulted in two vehicles exchanging gunfire. During the shootout, a 17-year-old male was shot and killed.

The suspect fled the scene in a gray four-door vehicle, possible a Nissan Altima.

The investigation is in progress at this time.
