Motorcyclist dies in north Fort Worth crash

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred during the overnight hours in the 5700 block of Mark IV Parkway.

Fort Worth PD, FD, and MedStar were all called to the scene just before 3:00AM.

Police say a motorcyclist was traveling along Mark IV Parkway when the rider lost control and crashed. He was ejected from the cycle and sustained a serious injury to his head.

Resuscitation efforts were administered, but the man was pronounced deceased on the scene. The victim has not yet been publicly identified.

Intoxicated driver arrested after causing fatal crash in north Dallas

A 24-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with Intoxication Manslaughter after causing a crash that fatally injured another driver on Friday night in north Dallas.

Multiple Dallas PD and DFR units were called to the scene around 9:30PM at Midway Road and the President George Bush Turnpike service road.

The suspect, a 24-year-old woman, was driving eastbound on the PGBT service road when she collided with a vehicle that was traveling northbound on Midway Road.

Both the suspect driver and the other driver were transported to local hospitals. The innocent driver was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as a 37-year-old man.

The female suspect was arrested and charged with Intoxication Manslaughter.

Five people injured in five separate overnight shootings across Dallas

The Dallas Police Department is currently investigating a total of five separate shootings across the city of Dallas that occurred during the overnight hours and early this morning. Here is a quick breakdown and incident summary provided by DPD officials.

7272 Marvin D. Love Freeway (Highway 67) – Dallas PD were called to a shooting at the Exchange 7272 Apartments just after 4:30AM this morning. One person was shot and transported to a local hospital in stable condition. No suspect has been arrested for this crime.

8350 Park Lane – Dallas PD responded to a shooting at the Villas Del Solmar apartments at 1:18AM. Police believe a man attempted to enter someone’s apartment without consent. An individual inside the resident drew a firearm and shot the man. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

2907 Healey Drive – Dallas PD were called to a house in east Dallas for a shooting. A man attempted to break into a house and was subsequently shot in the chest and shoulder. He was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition. The shooter is cooperating with police.

332 Avenue H – Dallas PD received a report of a shooting at a house in Oak Cliff at 332 Avenue H. Upon arrival, officers located a woman shot and injured. She was transported to a local hospital. One person is in custody.

9696 Walnut Street – Dallas PD responded to a shooting at the Trinity Meadows Condos. One person was shot in the leg by a known suspect. No other details were released.

Late night fire near downtown Dallas seen for miles

The Dallas Fire Rescue was called to a building on fire around 9:15PM at 511 N. Lancaster Ave near E. 5th Street. Fire had quickly engulfed a two-story apartment building.

Officials say the building was under construction at the time of the fire, and no one was reported inside.

A 2nd alarm was called for manpower. Firefighters maintained a defensive posture, as the fire had already spread throughout the building.

The fire was declared under control about an hour later.

There were no injuries and the building was completely destroyed in the fire.

The intense flames and heavy, dark smoke was seen for miles. It was only a few miles south of downtown.

UPDATE: Mother killed, children injured in Johnson County crash

This is an update regarding the fatality accident that occurred Friday afternoon along Highway 174 in Johnson County. For our original story, click here.

At 3:58PM on Friday, August 21st, multiple emergency responders from several agencies responded to a serious head-on collision along Highway 174 near Old Foamy Road, between Cleburne and Rio Vista.

DPS investigators believe an SUV was headed south on 174 and collided head-on with a Jeep that was traveling north on 174. The SUV veered into the oncoming lanes for an, as of yet, undetermined reason, causing the impact. Both vehicles ended up in the ditch, the Jeep overturned.

The driver of the SUV was airlifted by CareFlite to Texas Health Harris Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Jeep was airlifted to Texas Health Harris Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, she was pronounced deceased by hospital personnel. Her three kids were also traveling with her in the Jeep. One of the kids, a 9-year-old boy, was airlifted to Cook Children’s with possible injuries. The other children were not seriously hurt. The driver has been identified as a 30-year-old woman from Cleburne.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Driver opens fire on vehicle that cut him off; passenger injured, police searching for suspect

The Garland Police Department is investigating a road rage related shooting that occurred last night near the intersection of Lavon Drive and Bunker Hill Road.

Police say a man and his wife were driving along Lavon Drive when they were forced to quickly change lanes due to a crash ahead in the roadway. As they changed lanes, their vehicle cut off a pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup truck became irate, tailgating their vehicle and brandishing a handgun out the window. As both vehicles traveled along Lavon Drive, the driver of the pickup pulled up alongside the couple’s vehicle and opened fire.

A male passenger in the vehicle was shot and taken to a local hospital for treatment. He is in stable condition. His wife, who was driving at the time, was uninjured.

The suspect driver fled the scene and was last seen around Lavon Drive and the PGBT. He is described as a heavyset Hispanic man with no facial hair. The vehicle is believed to be a silver Dodge RAM four-door pickup truck. Call Garland PD if you know the suspect, or anything about this shooting: 972-485-4840.

Two adults, one child airlifted from serious crash in Johnson County

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a serious crash that occurred this afternoon along Highway 174 between Cleburne and Rio Vista.

Multiple emergency responders were called to the scene between 4PM and 5PM on Highway 174 near Old Foamy Road. Two vehicles were involved in the crash, according to officials.

EMS personnel on the scene called for a total of three (3) medical helicopters. CareFlite responded with three of their helicopters from local bases.

Two adults were both airlifted to Texas Health Harris Methodist hospital in Fort Worth, at least one with significant injuries. A child was also airlifted to Cook Children’s with undisclosed injuries. Their conditions are unknown at this hour.

Police subdue distressed man using beanbag round at QT in North Richland Hills

The North Richland Hills Police Department responded to a man in distress at the QuikTrip, 6640 NE Loop 820 at Rufe Snow Drive.

A patron at the store as police were arriving say the man was pacing back and forth, clearly in some type of emotional distress. Police confirm the man was armed with a knife or box cutter type of weapon.

North Richland Hills police officers made scene quickly and attempted to calm him down; however, in order to safely get the man into custody, a beanbag round, often referred to as a “less lethal shotgun”, was used.

EMS transported him to a local hospital for treatment of his emotional disturbance.

The incident is under investigation. There may be heavy police activity at the scene.

Woman killed in crash near Fort Worth Zoo may have been racing another vehicle

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred last night near the Fort Worth Zoo.

Multiple Fort Worth FD, PD, and MedStar EMS personnel were called to the scene at 10:45PM in the 2300 block of S. University Drive near Park Hill Drive. One vehicle had crashed off the roadway and was on fire.

The driver, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. She has been identified as a 29-year-old woman.

Witnesses say she possibly racing another vehicle when the crash occurred. The vehicle failed to turn at a curb and lost control, crashing off the roadway before catching fire.

The crash is under investigation.

Woman killed after vehicle hits pole in Richardson

The Richardson Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred late last night (Wednesday) at the intersection of W. Arapaho Road and West Shore Drive.

Richardson Fire/EMS and Police were called to the scene just after 11:00PM. Officials say a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Arapaho Road when it struck a pole near the intersection.

The impact caused the vehicle to spin out of control and come to rest in the middle of the roadway.

The driver was transported to a local hospital with major injuries, where she was later pronounced deceased. She has been identified as a 68-year-old resident of Richardson.

The accident remains under investigation.
