Fort Worth firefighters rescue child from burning apartment

Today around 2PM, the Fort Worth Fire Department was called to a fire at The Park at Bellevue apartments, 9700 Brian Way Circle. One of the 9-1-1 callers reported that a child was trapped in the back bedroom.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire showing from one of the units.

Quint 23 and Engine 23, housed about a mile away, were first on scene. Engine 23 battling back the flames while Quint 23 went inside the apartment to conduct a search.

Quint 23 located and rescued the child from the burning apartment. MedStar EMS was called to the scene and transported the child to Cook Children’s hospital with serious injuries. The condition of the child has not been released at this time.

The fire was placed under control within 15 minutes. Only one unit was involved in the fire.

The cause is under investigation.
