Arlington couple attacked while out for a walk; Man killed

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a serious of crimes that occurred late last night in southeast Arlington.

At around 9:00PM, a driver witnessed a distressed woman near the 6400 block of South Collins Street at Sublett Road. Multiple Arlington police officers were called to the scene and found that a man and a woman had been stabbed in an attempted robbery. They both sustained multiple stab wounds and other injuries.

After the attack, the lone suspect, described as a black male who was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and and blue jeans, run away towards Southeast Parkway. It is believed he got into a vehicle and sped off from the area.

A short time after, a woman walking her dog was struck by a speeding vehicle near the intersection of Southeast Parkway and Rising Meadow Drive. She was injured and her dog was killed. Investigators believe this was the suspect vehicle fleeing from the robbery scene.

The couple involved in the stabbing were both transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The man, identified as a 44-year-old, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Detectives are asking all residents in the area from S. Collins Street, Southeast Parkway, and Rising Meadow Drive to check their personal Ring cameras to see if they captured the suspect vehicle. The timeframe would be between the time of 9:00PM – 9:15PM. If you believe you have evidence, call Arlington police.
