Civilian Response Unit member shot in north Fort Worth

At around 11:45am, members of FWPD’s Civilian Response Unit were dispatched to the 3500 block of N. Juliet Street to take report of a burglary.

When one of the CRU units arrived on scene, an individual across the street fired shots at the CRU members with what appeared to be a rifle, according to FWPD.

One of the CRU members was shot during the incident. A radio broadcast of the shooting was transmitted, and additional FWPD officers responded to the scene.

When FWPD officers arrived, the suspect fired shots at them as well. The officers returned fire. It is unknown if the suspect was hit.

The suspect was last seen running away from the house.

The CRU member is in stable condition, according to Chief Garcia. He was talking and alert.

The scene remains very active as of 3:30pm as FWPD officers, including SWAT, continue to search for the suspect. It’s best to continue to avoid this area.
