One person killed in fiery crash along I-20 in Arlington
The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred just before 8:00PM last night (Wednesday) along the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 between the Bowen Road entrance ramp and Park Springs Road exit.
At 7:57PM, multiple emergency responders with the Arlington Fire Department, Arlington EMS, and Arlington Police all responded to the scene after one vehicle crashed off the roadway. The vehicle reportedly crashed into a creek bed and caught fire.
When officers arrived, the vehicle was fully involved in fire. Firefighters from Truck 9, Engine 9, Rescue 9, and Engine 10 all responded after there were reports of a person trapped in the vehicle. Unfortunately, the driver, who was the sole occupant, was unable to get out of the vehicle.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as a 54-year-old man from Forest Hill.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation at this time.
