The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred around 9:30PM Friday night in the eastbound lanes of I-20 just before Highway 175. Original story here.
Officials say an SUV collided with the back end of an attenuator truck. After the collision, the vehicle burst into flames.
The driver and front passenger were trapped in the vehicle. Two passengers riding in the backseat were injured. Bystanders were able to pull the two passengers in the back seat out of the vehicle. The two teenaged girls were transported to a local hospital with injuries.
Unfortunately, the driver and front passenger were unable to be pulled from the vehicle. They were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
The attenuator truck was stopped in the right lane of traffic, blocking for construction crews ahead.
