Arlington police are investigating death of teenager as possible accidental shooting

On Saturday, November 14th at around 7:00PM, the Arlington Police Department responded to a shooting incident at a house in the 6300 block of Brownlee Lane.

Officers arrived at the southeast Arlington home to find a critically injured teenager. Arlington EMS transported him to Medical City Arlington, but he was pronounced deceased a short time after arriving at the facility.

Investigators say the teenager was with two others in a vehicle when the gun went off. While they are still investigating the specific circumstances of the event, it appears the teens were manipulating the firearm when it went off and struck the victim. Police are not ruled out that it may have been the victim who was wielding the gun and accidentally shot himself.

The two other occupants inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting are cooperating with investigators.

The decedent has been identified as a 17-year-old male who lived at the residence.
