Man drowns while working in neighborhood at Eagle Mountain Lake

The law enforcement division of the Tarrant Regional Water District is investigating a drowning that occurred yesterday in the Resort on Eagle Mountain Lake neighborhood.

At around 4:15pm on Wednesday afternoon, multiple emergency responders were called to the 7000 block of The Resort Blvd off Morris Dido Newark Road for a water rescue.

According to the TRWD Police Department, a man was operating a skid steer loader near a residential canal when the machinery became submerged in water. The operator was unable to escape, and efforts by other construction personnel to save him were unsuccessful.

TRWD Police Officers conducted a search of the area utilizing a sonar equipped patrol boat. The man’s body was recovered about two and a half hours later.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as a 26-year-old man from Houston.

The cause and manner of death is pending official autopsy and death investigators report, however, the incident appears to be and accident and the investigation is ongoing.
