Lancaster police shoot, kill man who fired shots inside apartment
The Lancaster Police Department is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred early this morning at the Rosemont Apartments in the 1600 block of N. Houston School Road.
Officials say the man was originally involved in a disturbance with a female last night (Sunday). He was taken to Charlton hospital for evaluation for treatment of possible mental illness, but the hospital released him.
At around 5:42am this morning, Lancaster police were dispatched to a shooting at the Rosemont Apartments. The same man from last night had fired several shots inside an apartment. A woman and two juveniles were inside the apartment as well.
Officers made contact with the man, which resulted in the officers firing shots at the suspect. The suspect was hit and transported to Methodist Dallas hospital, but pronounced deceased.
Lancaster PD have not released any additional information regarding this incident.
