Uber driver stabbed and carjacked in Grapevine; suspect dressed as construction worker

The Grapevine Police Department is investigating a stabbing and carjacking involving an Uber driver this morning outside an apartment complex.

At around 7:00am this morning, an Uber driver was dropping off a passenger at the Amli Apartments, 400 Dallas Road, when he was stabbed and carjacked by the passenger. The passenger, who was dressed as a construction worker, drove away after attacking the man.

Residents in the area spotted the Uber driver bloody and hurt outside the apartment complex. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital where his injuries are reported as non-life-threatening.

Police are looking for the public’s help in locating the suspect. He is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’6”, 180 pounds with black and gray hair. He was last seen wearing a plaid shirt, orange reflective vest and white construction hat. He may be driving the victim’s vehicle, which is a blue 2016 Toyota Camry with license plate NMT-9734.

Anyone who sees the vehicle or suspect should call 911 immediately and avoid any confrontations with the suspect, as he may still be armed with a knife.
