Two people killed in shooting along Fort Worth’s homeless corridor
The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating two related shooting incidents that occurred this afternoon outside the True Worth Place life shelter.
Just after 2:00pm today, Fort Worth officers were called to a shooting at 1513 E. Presidio Street in what is known as Fort Worth’s homeless corridor just across the highway from downtown. Multiple 9-1-1 callers reported there had been a shooting and two people were hurt.
Emergency responders found two shooting victims at the scene. One was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second was transported by MedStar EMS with CPR in progress, and was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Police say there was an altercation near a vehicle that escalated to one suspect shooting the victim. After the original shooting took place, detectives believe another shooting occurred between a second suspect and the first suspect.
At least one suspect is currently on the loose. The homicide unit is investigating the scene.
