Police confirm three people killed in Denton crash
The Denton Police Department is currently investigating a serious crash that has killed three people and seriously injured at least one other person.
At around 11:45am this morning, multiple Denton Fire Department and Police Department crews were dispatched to E. University Blvd (Highway 380) and Rockhill Road on the east side of Denton. At least two vehicles had been involved in a major collision with people potentially ejected and trapped.
Initial reports from witnesses and 9-1-1 callers indicated people were trapped in the wreckage. Bystanders were able to pull at least one person from the wreckage. Two children, a 12-month-old and a 5-year-old, and one adult have been identified by police as the three fatalities.
CareFlite was launched to the scene, but it is unclear if they transported.
Multiple county police agencies are assisting with traffic control as both directions of Highway 380 are closed through this area. The closure is expected to last a while.
Denton PD will issue a full statement later tonight. Check back for further updates.
