Woman ejected, killed in Weatherford crash
The Weatherford Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred early last Friday morning along Interstate 20 near Bankhead Drive.
Police released information today related to the crash. Investigators say Weatherford police and fire crews were dispatched to the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 near the Bankhead Drive exit around 1:00am on Friday, October 15th.
A driver was traveling along the highway when she was involved in a collision with the center median. The impact of the crash caused the driver to be ejected from the vehicle and onto the highway where she was struck by multiple vehicles.
The 67-year-old woman was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Lanes of the highway were closed while police investigated the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
