Interstate 30 reopened following hours long closure for fatality crash in Royse City
Interstate 30 has been reopened following a serious crash involving multiple vehicles and semi trucks in Rockwall County.
Royse City PD say traffic had slowed on the roadway for an unknown reason when the driver of an 18-wheeler failed to slow and rear-ended another 18-wheeler at high speeds. This caused a chain reaction crash involving three other vehicles.
The driver of the 18-wheeler who caused the crash did not survive his injuries. All other injuries were non-life-threatening.
Lanes of westbound Interstate 30 were closed for at least four hours while police cleared up the scene.
