Irving police looking for driver who hit infant after child fell from moving vehicle
The Irving Police Department is investigating a serious accident involving an infant child that occurred earlier this morning at the intersection of N. MacArthur Blvd and Ranchview Drive.
At around 10:30am, an 8-month-old child fell from a moving vehicle and into the intersection. Details on how or why the young child fell from the car have not yet been released.
After the infant fell out of the car, a second vehicle hit the child in the intersection and continued without stopping to render aid. Police describe the possible vehicle as a black sedan.
Authorities have not stated the infant’s medical condition.

Irving Police are still looking for the driver who struck an 8-month-old girl after she fell out of a turning vehicle.
Police say the infant was unrestrained in the vehicle with three other kids when the door came open as the driver made a left turned onto Ranchview Drive on northbound MacArthur Blvd. After the child fell out of the car, another driver hit her.
Officials do not believe the driver intentionally struck the child, which is why they are not calling it a hit and run accident. It’s possible the driver did not even know they ran her over. But police would like to speak with the driver to piece together details of the investigation.
CPS was notified, which is normal, according to police. None of the four children inside the vehicle were properly restrained. No charges have been filed against the child’s mother.
The accident is still under investigation.
