No injuries after explosion at northeast Dallas house

The Dallas Fire Rescue is investigating a structure fire and reported explosion that occurred at a northeast Dallas house early this morning.

At 1:06am, Dallas firefighters were called to a one story house in the 8700 block of San Leandro Drive after neighbors reported hearing a loud bang noticed a house on fire.

Firefighters observed heavy fire and smoke showing from the residence upon arrival.

At first it was unclear if anyone was inside the home, but officials have made contact with the homeowner and confirmed the family is out of town.

A neighboring home was damaged, but the elderly woman inside was not injured.

Crews are still working to determine what caused the blast.

Two drivers killed in head-on crash along 287 near Decatur

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Thursday evening along the southbound lanes of Highway 287 near FM 407 in the New Fairview area, south of Decatur.

A 36-year-old woman was driving her SUV in the southbound lanes when she crossed the center median and went into the northbound lanes, hitting a northbound SUV head-on. It is unclear why she veered into oncoming traffic.

Multiple emergency responders and paramedics were called to the scene for extrication and patient care.

The 36-year-old woman was transported to nearby Wise Health System in Decatur with life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The driver of the northbound SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as a 65-year-old man of Bowie.

This crash impacted both northbound lanes and southbound lanes from around 5:30pm until 7:30pm.

Former northwest Dallas adult store goes up in flames

Dallas firefighters have been working a 3-alarm fire at a vacant northwest Dallas adult store for several hours.

At 10:19am, Dallas Fire Rescue was called to the building in the 11500 block of Anaheim Drive (also referred to as 2600 Forest Lane) after 9-1-1 calls reporting smoke coming from the building.

First arriving units found heavy smoke showing from the vacant two-story building. Command escalated the fire to 3 alarms due to the nature of the fire and large size of the building.

Most of the roof had collapsed into the structure by 2:00pm. Approximately 50-60 firefighters were called to the scene.

The building has been vacant for years. It originally operated as an adult store.

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

One person killed in hit-and-run crash along I-20 in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Tuesday night along the westbound lanes of I-20 near Hemphill Street in south Fort Worth.

At 8:29pm, Fort Worth FD, PD, and MedStar EMS were called to the scene after a vehicle struck a bridge pillar.

One of the occupants was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second occupant was transported to JPS with serious injuries. Neither have been identified.

Police say the crash involves a hit-and-run, although details surrounding the suspect vehicle were not released.

Fort Worth PD’s traffic unit is investigating the crash.

Man killed, woman seriously hurt in Burleson rollover crash

The Burleson Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Tuesday evening along the northbound I35W service road near FM 917 in Johnson County.

At 8:57pm, Burleson FD Station 16, Alvarado Engine 79, MedStar EMS, and Burleson PD were dispatched to the area of northbound I35W service road (Burleson Blvd) near FM 917 for a single vehicle rollover accident.

Emergency responders located a single vehicle on its roof. A 28-year-old male passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as a resident of Alvarado. The driver, a 32-year-old woman, was transported by MedStar EMS to JPS with serious injuries. There is no update on her condition. She has been identified as a resident of Mansfield.

Burleson police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

Two men shot during confrontation at Saginaw home

The Saginaw Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday evening at a home in the 300 block of Western Avenue near Washington Avenue.

Just after 10:30pm, Saginaw police received 9-1-1 calls of gunshots heard in the neighborhood. When officers arrived on scene, they located a man shot multiple times. He was transported by MedStar EMS to a local trauma center for treatment.

As officers were investigating the incident, a private vehicle showed up to Saginaw PD with a second gunshot wound victim. A passenger in the vehicle had sustained one gunshot wound. MedStar EMS was called to the station and transported him to a local hospital.

Detectives determined both men had been shot during a confrontation at a house in the 300 block of Western Avenue. They believe it was a targeted incident. There it no immediate threat to the public.

The conditions of both men have not been released.

The incident remains under investigation.

Man gravely injured in Denton house fire

The Denton Fire Department is investigating a house fire that occurred this afternoon in the 2300 block of Royal Acres Drive.

At 1:55pm, Denton firefighters were called to the house after neighbors spotted heavy smoke from the back of the structure.

Firefighters arrived on the scene within two minutes and reported heavy smoke conditions. They immediately went interior upon receiving a report from neighbors that the man was still inside.

The resident, a man in his 60’s, was found unresponsive in the back part of the house. He was rescued by firefighters and transported to a local hospital in grave condition.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire, but do indicate it was accidental in nature.

An update on the fire cause and condition of the victim will be released tomorrow afternoon.

Three arrested after road rage shootout on I30 near Rockwall

The Rockwall Police Department and Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office have arrested three individuals involved in a road rage shootout this afternoon on Interstate 30.

Authorities say the incident began around 1:30pm as a road rage involving three vehicles along westbound Interstate 30 near Royse City. Individuals inside two of the vehicles fired shots at each other.

One of the vehicles exited at Ridge Road in the Rockwall city limits and caused a crash on the service road. Three suspects ran from the crash scene, but were quickly apprehended by Rockwall officers and a Rockwall County sheriffs deputy.

The second vehicle involved in the shooting was later stopped by another Rockwall County sheriffs deputy near Interstate 30 and Dalrock.

Luckily, no one was injured in the shootout. The Royse City Police Department is leading the investigation. Charges against the involved parties have not yet been released.

Driver struck, killed by vehicle along I35E near Buc-ee’s in Denton

The Denton Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred early this morning along the southbound lanes of I35E near Buc-ee’s Blvd.

Denton police and fire were called to the scene around 4:20am this morning after two drivers reported hitting an individual in the road.

Police determined the individual had stopped their vehicle on the right shoulder of the interstate for an unknown reason. The driver got out and was struck by one vehicle in the far right lane of traffic. A second driver also struck the individual.

Paramedics responded to the scene, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

All lanes of southbound I35E were closed for approximately 4 hours while Denton police investigated the scene.

The victim has not yet been publicly identified.

Sheriff’s office investigating homicide in Johnson County

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred Friday morning south of Joshua.

At around 7:45am, multiple emergency responders from Joshua FD and AMR along with several law enforcement officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of County Road 904 near County Road 1022 just east of the Chisholm Trail Tollway.

When authorities arrived, they located a 22-year-old man suffering from multiple blunt force injuries. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene. He lived at the location.

At this time, all we know is that his death has been ruled a homicide and Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. They have not released any information to the public. We will provide an update below if they release any details.
