Parker County man shoots wife during argument over finances

The Parker County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon around 4:00pm in the 1500 block of Midway Drive.

Parker County sheriffs were called to the Poolville-area home after a man called 9-1-1 to report he had shot his wife during an argument.

Deputies found the 47-year-old man sitting on his porch wielding a shotgun. He was taken into custody without incident. They also located his 55-year-old wife who had sustained a gunshot to her side. Parker County ESD 1 and PCHD EMS were called for medical assistance. She was transported to a Fort Worth hospital.

A preliminary investigation reveals the couple was having an argument over finances when the man grabbed a gun and shot her.

The suspect has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Man killed in crash with 18-wheeler north of Haslet

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred early yesterday morning on FM 156 north of Haslet.

Just after 2:30am on Wednesday, multiple emergency responders from Fort Worth were dispatched to a crash involving multiple vehicles at FM 156 and Chaplin Drive, just south of 114.

At least one vehicle and an 18-wheeler were involved in a head-on collision. One of the individuals on the scene was unresponsive. Medstar paramedics responded, but pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

The victim has been identified as a 32-year-old man of Mooringsport, Louisiana.

The crash is under investigation at this time.

Driver intentionally hit, killed pedestrian near White Rock Lake, Dallas police say

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality crash that occurred around 2:39am this morning in the 8500 block of Plano Road near NW Highway. A pedestrian was struck and killed at the scene.

During the investigation, it was determined that a driver intentionally ran over the man. The suspect was driving a dark colored sedan.

At this time, it is unknown if the suspect has been apprehended.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.

Mother and child killed in Mesquite crash after exiting crashed vehicle on I-20

The Mesquite Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred late Monday evening along the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 near FM 740 in far western Mesquite.

At 11:07 pm, multiple emergency responders were called to a multi-vehicle crash at the given location.

Police say two vehicles were involved in a collision on the highway, disabling one vehicle in the middle of the road. The driver of this vehicle and her 3-year-old son got out of the crashed vehicle and were attempting to walk off the road when another vehicle collided with them. An 18-wheeler was also involved in the secondary crash.

The driver, a 30-year-old woman from Benbrook, and her 3-year-old son, also of Benbrook, were pronounced deceased. No other drivers were seriously injured.

Authorities say the driver who hit them will not face any charges.

Lanes of the highway were closed down for most of the overnight hours while Mesquite PD’s traffic unit investigated the scene.
