Man fatally shot during road rage incident in south Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred around 3:00pm this afternoon near the 10300 block of Oak Grove Road near Garden Acres Drive.

At 3:06pm, Fort Worth police officers were dispatched to the area after 9-1-1 calls came in of a shooting. A man was reportedly laying on the ground.

When officers arrived, they located an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound. MedStar EMS transported him to a local hospital, but he was pronounced deceased.

Detectives indicate this shooting was a result of a road rage. Police have detained one individual for questioning who they believe is responsible for the shooting. This individual has not yet been arrested.

The incident remains under investigation.

One person killed, two injured in fiery Fort Worth crash

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred late Tuesday evening along eastbound I-20 near McCart.

At around 11:04pm, multiple emergency responders from Fort Worth FD, PD, and Medstar responded to a vehicle crash with fire on the highway. First arriving units found two vehicles with major damage, one on fire.

Preliminary details indicate a passenger vehicle rear ended an SUV. The SUV was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived on the scene. After extinguishing the fire, they located one body inside the vehicle.

Two other people, both from the SUV, were transported to Fort Worth hospitals, but their conditions have not yet been released.

All lanes of eastbound I-20 were closed for a few hours while police investigated the scene.

Armed man barricaded at Hurst home killed by officers after firing “dozens” of shots

The Texas Rangers is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred earlier this morning at a home in Hurst.

At 2:06am, Hurst police officers responded to a home in the 600 block of Willow Street to investigate a shots fired call. When officers arrived, they were met with gunfire from a resident inside the house. They immediately retreated from the scene, established a perimeter, and called for assistance from NETCAST – North East Tarrant County Area SWAT Team.

While waiting for NETCAST officers and negotiators, the barricaded man continued to fire dozens of rounds at officers.

SWAT officers arrived at the scene and immediately began negotiating a peaceful surrender. After multiple failed attempts at negotiations, SWAT officers deployed tear gas, breached the house, and continue to negotiate with the suspect.

At around 8:35am, the resident exited the side of the house, brandishing a weapon and firing shots at SWAT officers. Multiple SWAT officers returned fire and struck the man.

Hurst paramedics staging nearby were called to the scene, but the suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Texas Rangers are currently investigating this officer involved shooting.

Two drivers killed after 18-wheeler crashes into vehicles on 287 near Midlothian

The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred earlier this morning along southbound Highway 287 between Mansfield and Midlothian.

At around 12:00pm, Grand Prairie Fire/EMS, Midlothian Fire/EMS, Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, Midlothian PD, and Grand Prairie PD were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash along southbound 287 near FM 661.

Police say the driver of an 18-wheeler failed to control his speed when approaching congested traffic and slammed into three vehicles. Two drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene. Occupants in the third vehicle were not seriously injured.

CareFlite airlifted one person from the scene.

Police say both victims were men.

The crash closed lanes of Highway 287 for several hours while police investigated the scene and cleared the wreckage.

The accident remains under investigation.

Police investigating murder suicide attempt at Lewisville house

The Lewisville Police Department is investigating a shooting that seriously injured two people this evening.

At 6:45pm, Lewisville police were called to a home in the 1200 block of Palisades Drive for a shooting. Officers arrived to find two victims with gunshot wounds. Lewisville EMS transported both victims to Medical City Lewisville for treatment of serious injuries.

Detectives determined a 28-year-old man shot his estranged girlfriend, a 27-year-old woman, and then shot himself.

Both are in surgery at Medical City Lewisville. Their conditions have not been released. We will report any official updates.

The investigation is ongoing.

Worker shot at east Fort Worth AMC theatre

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a shooting at the Eastchase AMC theatre.

At 5:27pm, Fort Worth police were dispatched to the AMC theatre at 8301 Ederville Road for a shooting investigation.

According to officials, an employee was outside of the movie theatre talking to a group of males when he was shot in the upper body. The suspects took possessions from the employee and fled the scene.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.

The incident is under investigation.

Two teens found shot dead in Watauga neighborhood

The Watauga Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Saturday afternoon.

At around 2:45pm, Watauga police and paramedics responded to the 5400 block of Caribou Ridge Drive at Bear Hollow Court for a shooting investigation.

Upon arrival, officers located two shooting victims inside of a vehicle parked on the street. Paramedics pronounced both victims deceased at the scene. The victims have been unofficially identified as two teenagers.

Police investigated the scene for hours yesterday afternoon, gathering evidence to determine what happened.

At this time, Watauga PD has not released any information regarding this incident. We will update this story with any new information when police release a statement.

Two drivers dead in wrong-way crash in Mesquite

The Mesquite Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred early this morning along the northbound lanes of IH-635 near La Prada Drive.

At around 5:30am, Dallas police received 9-1-1 calls of a wrong-way driver traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of 635. DPD officers attempted to catch up and stop the driver, but a collision occurred before officers could do so.

The wrong-way driver collided head-on with another vehicle, killing both drivers. Impact from the collision caused one of the vehicles to catch fire.

The wrong-way driver has not yet been positively identified due to the fire. The innocent driver has been identified as a 41-year-old individual from Forney.

All northbound lanes of 635 were closed while Mesquite police investigated the scene.

Wanted felon rams Dallas police, engages in shootout at Lake Highlands apartment

The Dallas Police Department is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred overnight at a Lake Highlands apartment complex.

At 2:30am, Dallas police officers attempted to stop a wanted felon driving a dark colored sedan in the 9300 block of Skillman Street. The suspect drove off in an attempt to flee from police. In his attempt to flee, the suspect rammed multiple Dallas police cars, injuring three officers. No one was seriously hurt.

One officer was able to chase down the suspect after he drove onto a dead-end street inside the apartment complex. The suspect then exited his vehicle and a engaged in a shootout with this officer. Neither the suspect nor the officer were shot.

After a short foot chase, an officer was able to tase and arrest the suspect.

The suspect was transported to an area hospital as a result of bring tased. The investigation is ongoing.

Couch fire sparks 2-alarm blaze at downtown Dallas high rise

The Dallas Fire Rescue is investigating a 2-alarm fire that occurred Friday evening at the Manor House apartments, 1222 Commerce Street in downtown Dallas.

At 6:33pm, Dallas firefighters received a fire alarm call from the high rise building. First arriving units found a column of black smoke showing from the top floor of a 25-story residential high rise. A 2nd alarm response was immediately requested to the scene.

Firefighters made way to the top floor and found heavy fire in the clubhouse / community room. The initiated fire attack and had the fire knocked down within an hour. No one was injured.

Investigators determined the fire started when someone set a couch on fire. The fire spread throughout the entire room.

The quick actions of firefighters limited the damage to the room where the fire started. No residences were impacted.

The investigation is still ongoing.
