Three people shot, two fatally, at southwest Arlington home

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred overnight at a home in southwest Arlington.

Shortly after midnight, Arlington police were dispatched to shots fired at a residence in the 5300 block of Ivy Hill Drive. When officers arrived, they located three victims. They were all relatives.

An 84-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the house. An 41-year-old man and 67-year-old woman were transported to local hospitals, but the man died a few hours later at Medical City Arlington. The woman did not sustain life-threatening injuries.

Detectives say an unidentified suspect forced entry into the house and began firing shots. No arrests have been made at this time. At this point in the investigation, police believe it was not a random attack.
