UPDATE: Man killed in Parker County crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Friday afternoon.

At 3:35pm, emergency responders from Weatherford Fire Department, Parker County ESD 1, Parker County Hospital District EMS, and multiple law enforcement responded to 2400 block of Azle Highway (FM 730) near Rambling Trail for a vehicle crash.

Investigators say a 50-year-old man was driving an SUV southbound on FM 730 when he drove into the barrow ditch, overcorrected, and started to skid sideways across the roadway. A northbound pickup truck then collided with the SUV.

Extrication was required to free at least one of the trapped drivers. Paramedics called for an Air Evac Lifeteam to respond.

The 50-year-old driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as a resident of Watauga. The driver of the pickup truck was airlifted to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. He has been identified as a 33-year-old man from Azle.

Lanes of FM 730 were closed while crews worked the scene.

Driver dies from injuries sustained in Fort Worth crash

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred early Monday morning along the 3000 block of North Freeway (Interstate 35W) at NE 28th Street.

At 6:10am, Fort Worth FD, PD, and MedStar EMS were dispatched to a single vehicle crash. The driver was treated at the scene and transported to JPS Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver later died at the hospital. He has been identified as a 19-year-old male.

Witnesses say the man was traveling northbound on the interstate at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic, just prior to the collision. He lost control of the vehicle, crashed off the roadway and hit multiple concrete pillars.

The crash remains under investigation.

Young motorcyclist killed in Watauga crash

The Watauga Police Department is investigating a fatality motorcycle accident that occurred late Wednesday afternoon.

At around 4:30pm, Watauga FD/EMS and Police along with North Richland Hills FD were dispatched to the northbound lanes of Denton Highway (377) just before Tarrant Parkway for a major accident. Emergency responders located a collision involving an SUV and a motorcycle.

Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to Medical City North Hills hospital in critical condition, but he was pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as a 19-year-old man.

Lanes of northbound 377 were partially blocked through the evening while police cleared up the scene.

Man arrested for fatally stabbing father-in-law in Bedford

The Bedford Police Department has made an arrest in the fatal stabbing earlier this week.

On Tuesday, October 11, at 12:15am, Bedford police responded to a disturbance in the 1500 block of Shady Lane. Authorities say a 28-year-old man and his father-in-law, a 41-year-old man, were arguing about a family matter when the situation escalated to the 28-year-old stabbing his father-in-law multiple times.

Bedford paramedics transported the man to Medical City North Richland Hills Hospital, but he was pronounced deceased. He was a resident of Hurst.

Police arrested the suspect on scene. He has been formally charged with Murder.

The incident remains under investigation.

Off duty Dallas officer killed in collision with wrong-way driver

The Dallas Police Department has announced the death of one of their officers following a crash late last night on Spur 408.

Last night at around 11:48pm, Dallas Fire-Rescue and Dallas Police responded to a major accident on Spur 408 near Kiest Blvd. A preliminary investigation of the scene revealed an off-duty Dallas police officer was driving into work to start his shift when he was hit head-on by a wrong-way driver. The wrong-way driver was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Spur 408. Impact from the collision caused the officer’s vehicle to overturn multiple times, police say.

Dallas Fire Rescue transported the officer to Methodist Dallas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Despite life-saving measures, the officer was pronounced deceased this morning.

The wrong-way driver who caused the crash was also transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia has identified the officer as Jacob Arellano. He leaves behind a son, a girlfriend, and a grieving family.

Officer Arellano, 25, has been a member of the Dallas Police Department since June of 2019. He was assigned to Northwest Patrol Division, 1st watch. Funeral arrangements are pending. Officer Arellano is survived by his parents, girlfriend and infant child. Officer Arellano is also survived by his brother, also a Dallas Police Officer, police say.

This is an active investigation.

Young man hospitalized after shooting in Weatherford

At around 11:00pm Friday night, the Weatherford Police Department responded to a shooting in the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter, 1836 S. Main Street.

Officials say a 19-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound. He was transported from the scene to a local hospital. As of this morning, his condition was reported as stable.

Officers say the suspect fled the scene in a dark colored vehicle. It is unknown if the suspect(s) has been arrested.

The circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation at this time.

Driver killed in Garland crash

The Garland Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 30 near Zion Road.

Just before 3:00am, Garland Fire/EMS and Police responded to a crash on the main lanes of the highway. Preliminary information indicates a vehicle struck the back of an 18-wheeler.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene by Garland paramedics. There were no other injuries.

Lanes of the highway were reopened around 8:00am this morning.

The cause remains under investigation.

Two pedestrians killed in Fort Worth crash

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight in the westbound lanes of NW Loop 820 near Marine Creek Parkway.

At 3:45am, multiple emergency responders were dispatched to a pedestrian crash in the main lanes of the NW Loop. Upon arrival, officers located two pedestrians that were hit by a vehicle. One pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second pedestrian was transported by MedStar to a local hospital, but later pronounced deceased as well.

The driver of the vehicle who struck the pedestrians fled on foot from the crash scene. They have not yet been located.

All lanes of westbound Loop 820 were closed for approximately four hours while police investigated the scene.

Fort Worth PD is investigating the circumstances surrounding this crash.

Multiple victims in south Fort Worth shooting

At 6:57pm Friday evening, Fort Worth police officers were dispatched to a person shot in a vehicle near the 1200 block of Jessamine Street in south Fort Worth.

Officers arrived to find multiple individuals inside of a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. The vehicle was parked on the street in front of a residence.

MedStar paramedics responded to the scene along with Fort Worth firefighters. One victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Police have not yet confirmed the number of victims inside the vehicle, but reports indicate there were multiple.

Preliminary information from the scene indicates the suspect(s) fled the scene.

There is heavy police activity in this neighborhood while police work the scene.

UPDATE – Four victims have died as a result of this shooting. Three were pronounced deceased on the scene and the fourth was pronounced at the hospital. Detectives are investigating this as a possible robbery homicide.

UPDATE: Woman killed in Cleburne crash

Emergency responders from the Cleburne Fire Department and Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash at 1:17pm near the intersection of FM 4 and FM 3136.

Officials say the driver of an SUV was traveling eastbound on FM 4 when she attempted to turn left into a private driveway. She made the turn in front of a dump truck which struck the vehicle’s passenger side.

Impact from the collision caused the vehicle to hit a power pole and knock out power in the immediate area.

Paramedics pronounced the driver of the SUV deceased at the scene. She has been identified by police as a 27-year-old woman from Keene.

The driver of the dump truck did not sustain serious injuries.
