Driver killed in fiery Haltom City crash
The Haltom City Police Department says one person died overnight in a single vehicle crash along North Loop 820.
Haltom City firefighters and police officers along with MedStar paramedics were called to the scene at 3:42am on eastbound North Loop 820 near Denton Highway (377).
Investigators say the driver of a passenger vehicle veered off the highway between the main and toll lanes, and struck a light pole. Impact from the collision caused a fire and trapped the driver inside.
The driver was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Lanes of eastbound North Loop 820 were closed for a few hours while investigators worked the scene.
